To-day between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. four birders scanned the area on Hwy 24, east of Charlotteville West Quarter line for the Eurasian Common Teal to no avail. I then scanned other areas , Long Point road, Lee Browns and other field ponds- all negative. In a field just west of Hwy 59 on hwy 42(Lakeshore Rd.,) I saw 2 sandhill cranes close to the road with a flock of Canada geese. At Lee Browns, there were a pair of wood duck, several american widgeon, green winged teal, and a pair of ruddy ducks. Lots of Canada geese here as well.
For the E.Common Teal area, drive south on Hwy 59. Turn W. on hwy 24, and drive to just past Charlotteville West Quarter Line. The field pond is on the S side, but quite far from the road.
