Ontbirders, The Pittock Leconte's is still around and very reliable in the same location where I originally found the bird. Ross Snider, myself, Len Manning, Ben Vaughn and others had great looks again today. If anyone needs good photo's this may be the bird for you as it has a tendency to sit up in the open at length.
Your best bet in finding the bird is probably to park yourself in the weedy area on the hill and just look for the bird mousing about in the grass. Directions - From Vansittart, go north to 59 Hwy. Travel 1 km. Take Pittock Park Road east to the park gates. The park is not yet open, so park at the gate and walk in. Follow the paved road to the west. It will turn to gravel and pass over a creek that empties into Pittock Lake. Just west and north of the creek you will see an area of weedy meadow. The sparrow was here, mostly staying within about 50 m of the east thicket.
