Ontbirders,

The Pittock Leconte's is still around and very reliable in the same location
where I originally found the bird. Ross Snider, myself, Len Manning, Ben Vaughn
and others had great looks again today.  If anyone needs good photo's this may
be the bird for you as it has a tendency to sit up in the open at length.

Your best bet in finding the bird is probably to park yourself in the
weedy area
on the hill and just look for the bird mousing about in the grass.

Directions - From Vansittart, go north to 59 Hwy. Travel 1 km. Take Pittock
Park
Road east to the park gates. The park is not yet open, so park at the gate and
walk in. Follow the paved road to the west. It will turn to gravel and pass
over
a creek that empties into Pittock Lake. Just west and north of the creek you
will see an area of weedy meadow. The sparrow was here, mostly staying within
about 50 m of the east thicket.
