Ontbirds subscribers,

Just before 4:00 p.m., while working in my front yard, a Cattle Egret flew past
from east to west just off my driveway over Lake Ontario. It crossed inland a
little to the west of Thickson Rd. after which I lost sight of it.

Around my home at Thickson's Woods, there were many arrivals typical for the
date, including Yellow-rumped Warblers, Black-and-white Warbler, White-throated
Sparrows, Fox Sparrows, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Chipping Sparrows, Eastern
Phoebes, Hermit Thrushes, Winter Wren and a couple of Broad-winged Hawks.

Thickson Woods is found at the southern terminus of Thickson Rd. S. off exit
412 from Hwy 401 in Whitby. It is just east of Thickson Rd. on the south side
of the Waterfront Trail.
