Hi Ontbirders,

There was an enormous amount of bird activity at Mud Lake this morning with 7
species of warbler among the birds I saw:

Yellow-rumped Warbler (lots)
Palm Warbler (10+)
Black-thraoted Blue Warbler (1)
Northern Waterthrush (1)
Black-throated Green Warbler (3)
Yellow Warbler (1)
Pine Warbler

I also saw the following this morning:

Black-crowned Night Heron (2)
Great Blue Heron (5)
Belted Kingfisher (1)
Merlin (1)
Peregrine Falcon (1 flew up the canal north of the ridge, then turned north and
flew across the Deschenes Rapids to the Quebec side of the river)
Fox Sparrow
White-thraoted Sparrow
Northern Flicker
Ruby-crowned Kinglet (lots)
Purple Finch (1 pair)

Most of the bird activity was along the ridge earlier in the morning in the
fog. The south end of Mud Lake was very quiet.

Directions

Take Pinecrest Road exit from 417 and head north to Richmond Road. Turn right
onto Richmond and merge to far left lane. After crossing Carling, the far left
lane defaults into a left turn lane onto Poulin. Turn left onto Poulin and
follow straight. Poulin makes a hard left after approx. 800m and becomes Howe.
You will now be heading west. At the first 4 way stop, turn right onto
Britannia Road and follow north to Cassels. Turn right onto Cassels and
continue to the entrance to Mud Lake. Park alongside the road there.
