A Worm-eating Warbler was in a small woodlot at the east end of Cobourg this morning. It was present between 9.00-10.00 a.m., and was still present when I left. It was feeding mainly on the ground [together with a multitude of White-throated Sparrows] on the east side of the woodlot, and moving slowly south.

Exiting Cobourg east on County Road 2 there is an industrial park on the south of the road [Diamond Head Mall]. Two streets access this area from the County Road. The westernmost is Willmott Street, which runs due south, passing a housing development on the west. At its south end Willmott turns east to parallel a strip of parkland bordering Lake Ontario. This parkland terminates on the west in a small mixed woodlot at the foot of Willmott, and backing on the housing. The bird was located in this area. It seems very tame, and provided superb views.

To access County Road 2 in Cobourg, exit #401 at the eastern Cobourg exit [#474] and turn south off the exit ramp. This is Division Street. Continue south through town to the main intersection of Division and King Streets. Turn left [east]. King becomes County Road 2 on leaving the town. The two streets into the industrial park are immediately before the railroad bridge as one leaves town.
