The Hamilton Community Peregrine Project is pleased to announce the
almost simultaneous arrival of two Peregrine Falcon chicks this
afternoon at the Sheraton Hamilton Hotel. The third egg is expected to
hatch within the next few days.

This is the seventeenth year that the same 18th floor Sheraton window
column ledge has been occupied by Peregrines. More than 50 juvenile
Peregrines have fledged successfully from the nest. The current
female, Madame X, was hatched on a bridge in Pennsylvania in 1999. The
male, Surge, was hatched in Etobicoke in 2002.

The falcons can be observed on live web cams at:

Falconwatch 2011, which monitors the chicks as they learn to fly and
assists if they run into trouble, will begin during the first week of
June. Volunteers are needed to help keep an eye on the birds. Anyone
interested can contact Falconwatch at: [email protected]
