Hey Birders, This evening I was driving along highway 3 into Wheatley and saw a nice grassy field about 2km east of town (Wheatley). I stopped and after a few minutes had a male Dickcissel singing about 100m. south of the road. The bird eventually perched at the top of some dead mullen's and gave nice looks. The field is pretty large so I wouldn't be too surprised if there are more Dickcissel's or even something better, like a Henslow's Sparrow in it. Good Birding Ken Burrell Directions: heading east on hwy. 3 from Wheatley, go about 2km. The field is pretty easy to pick out (its the only field that isn't a row crop) and is at the corner of hwy 3 (Talbot Line) and Camper's Cove Road. The bird was between The close oil derrick and Campers Cove Road. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
