The 206 acre Bluebird Ranch at the corner of McNamee and Wylie Roads behind
the Carden Important Bird Area sign is for sale. This critical area needs
protection. It is home to many grassland specialties. Here in 2006
Ontbirders saw and heard a Henslow’s Sparrow. Birders realize how important
this property is because it welcomes us to Wylie Road and borders the
Windmill Ranch to the north, protecting a large block of alvar habitat for
birds.

The Couchiching Conservancy is having  a fundraising dinner on Friday, June
24, 2011 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Carden Recreation Centre in Dalrymple
near Kirkfield. Tickets are $50 per person and you will received a
charitable receipt for $30. There will be a Silent Auction with a great
prizes and fantastic entertainment. To reserve your spot, please contact The
Couchiching Conservancy at 705-326-1620 for tickets.
