This morning, while counting over 1800 cormorant tree-nests on Middle Brothers
Island, we saw 1, then 2 and then 6 Great Egrets perched in trees and flying
over the island. We eventually found 2 nests; one had three live young, the
other 2 dead young. We eventually saw 7 adults at once.

This is the first nesting record for GREGs from the Kingston area.

Directions: Go west on Bath Road until you see Lake Ontario and three islands
on your left. Scope the middle island (the one with all the vegetation still in
tact and a tall white navigation tower) and you may see adults flying around.
