Barb Robertson saw and photographed a Blue-winged Warbler yesterday
morning in the woodlot north-west of Tunney's Pasture in Ottawa. I was
able to relocate the bird today at lunch time. It was just off the main
east-west trail on a short side trail that goes south to an opening in
the fence that borders Pontiac St on the north side. This opening is
between Cowley Ave and Keyworth Ave. The bird was a bit dull-plumaged
(presumably a female or young bird) but still quite recognizable. It was
foraging very actively slightly above eye level or maybe a little
higher.

Directions: Take 417 west and exit at Island Park. Turn right on
Clearview and then left on Patricia and right on Pontiac. Keyworth is
the next street over. Please be aware that parking in this area is
restricted to one hour between 9 and 5, Monday to Friday. The parking
areas off the Ottawa River Parkway east of the Champlain bridge and at
Remic Rapids, which are relatively close, presumably allow parking for
longer periods.
