Late Post for Thursday Sept.1. Bill Smith and I birder the Port Stanley sewage lagoons and Townsend sewage lagoons and among the birds we saw were the following: Port Stanley sewage lagoons: Good numbers of Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs - Killdeer - Semipalmated Plover and Semipalmated Sandpiper - Least Sandpiper - Spotted Sandpiper - Pectoral Sandpiper - 10 Red-knecked Phalarope and in the plowed field opposite the viewing stations 2 American Golden Plovers and a Buff-breasted Sandpiper.
We then headed for Townsend stopping off at Port Burwell to look for Little Gulls without success. At Townsend Lagoons we observed: Good numbers of Killdeer, Semi-palmated - Least and Pectoral Sandpipers along with Greater and Lesser Yellowlegs 2 Juvenile Baird's Sandpipers and a Redk-necked Phalarope Peter McParland _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
