Today on strong northeast winds, there were quite a few goodies for those
patient enough to spend the day in the on and off drizzle and windy
conditions. I was only able to spend a short time down there late afternoon
but in reports from other birders during the day, a distant Sabine's Gull
was seen a couple of times, a good number of Long-tailed and Parasitic
Jaegers, some at close distance were observed through the day. Strong
Northeast and East winds the next three days will be good conditions for
those who wish to see these specialty birds. Scopes are always helpful.
Black-legged Kittiwake and more Sabine's Gulls are expected birds.

Directions to Van Wagners Beach: Take the Centennial Parkway (Hwy.20) exit
from the QEW in east Hamilton and proceed north to the North Service Rd.,
turn left and continue west as it turns into Van Wagners Beach Road.

Continue to the parking lots at either Hutch's Restaurant or the Lakeland
Centre viewing tower and view the lake anywhere near here.

Cheers,

Cheryl Edgecombe
