Observation start time: 07:45:00
Observation end time: 16:30:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Stephen Kolbe

Observers:

Visitors:
Dan Pequin visiting from Quebec kept me company during the drizzle.

Weather:
Steady rain early this morning delayed the opening of the count.
Off-and-on showers and heavy clouds persisted throughout the remainder of
the day. Winds 10-15 km/hr out of the east and northeast. Temperatures
16-19 C.

Raptor Observations:
A few birds were moving between rain showers. A brief burst of birds in
the late afternoon when the rain let up for an extended period of time.
Ospreys put in a good showing, as did Sharp-shinned Hawks. The first
Peregrine Falcon of the season burst over the tower at treetop height.

Non-raptor Observations:
Highlight today was an astounding (at least for me) 205 Black Terns moving
through in a few large groups in the rain. Also a nice foraging flock of
passerines was around the base of the tower. It included 15 species of
warbler and a Philadelphia Vireo.

northerly winds as long as it isn't pouring.
