Peter Yeorg just called at 4:45 PM that he has an American Avocet at Kraft
Road in Fort Erie. Kraft Road goes south from east end of Dominion Road.
(Dominion Road runs parallel to the north shore of Lake Erie.)

Walk toward Lake Erie and west about a couple hundred yard. When he got to
the open area past the woods he spotted the American Avocet with a group of
 gulls.

At the small islands above the Canadian Falls at Niagara Falls at 9:55 AM
there were no Great Egrets, but at 10:07 a single Great Egret appeared at
the largest island were most of the Black-crowned Night-Herons and
Double-crested Cormorants nest. At 10:10 AM two more Great Egrets appeared and
there
was a flurry of feeding and bill grabbing and pulling activity. At 10:12
the egret that provided the food left the island and was quickly pursued by
the two fledgling egrets. It appears that all of the nestling Great Egrets
have fledged.

Also above the Canadian Falls were four Common Mergansers. There were 22
Double-crested Cormorants still on the island three at nests. Between 9:55
and 10:39 there was one episode of cormorant feeding activity.

At the south end of Goat Island there was one Wilson's Warbler, four
Magnolia Warblers, one Black-thr. Green Warbler and an American Redstart.

Best Wishes for Great Birding,
Bill Watson
