Subsequent to the identification by Michael Ferguson and Stan Long of a white
morph Snow Goose earlier this afternoon at Reesor Pond, a Cackling Goose
(presumed hutchinsii subspecies) was seen on the pond's north spit. Its small
stature, foreshortened bill and vertical forehead were confirmed by three other
birders. Redheads and a lone Black-bellied Plover (winter plumage) were also
present.
