To-day Bill Smith and I birded Wards and Centre up to the R.C.Y.C. bridge
at the Snug. We joined Norm Murr and Ian Cannell until about 11A.M. when we
split and went our separate ways. The activity level to-day was dramatically
lower than on Monday and Tuesday both in numbersof species and individuals
seen (except for a profusion of Yellow-rumped Warblers and both Kinglets)
however we managed 51 species between 8.00A.M. and 2.15 P.M. Weather was
mostly sunny with a light S.E. wind. Here is a partial list of the more
interesting birds seen: Yellow-bellied Sapsucker - Blue-headed Vireo -
Gray-cheeked Thrush - Eastern-Towee - Lincoln's sparrow - Brown Creeper -
Eastern Phoebe - Sharp-shinned and Cooper's Hawk - Peregrine Falcon - Rusty
Blackbird (flyover) We saw only 7 species of Warbler which included
Orange-crowned - a male and female Blackburnian - Nashville - Common
Yellow-throat - Blackpole.
