Between 9:30 and 10 am this morning I observed the 2 Hudsonian Godwits moving
around the north end of Frenchman's Bay. Other shorebirds included Lesser
Yellowlegs, Pectoral Sandpiper, Killdeer and Spotted Sandpiper. There were
several peeps which probably included the previous reported White-rumped
Sandpipers, but lighting conditions in the morning precluded a definite id. I
would think the lighting would be better in the late afternoon. There was also
a flock of about a dozen American Pipits feeding on the mudflats, at some times
coming quite close to where I was set up.

Directions as per Jean Iron:

Directions:
exit 401 at Whites Rd in Pickering and go south to Bayly. Then east about 1.5
km past the row of town houses to Gingerbread
nursery school on south side. Park at southeast corner where a well trodden
down short trail
leads to cattails and mudflats. Rubber boots are essential and the muckiest
part is on the way in thru the cattails.
