Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 8 hours

Official Counter: Jonathan Stein

Observers: Andrew Sturgess, Rodney Laura

Visitors:
Dave Dvorak and Linda Sekura hung out for most of the day. Tom Calligaro
stopped in for a brief period.

Weather:
The sun was again bright and the sky clear, though it was slightly cloudier
today than it has been in the recent past. Visibility was better with a
nice mixture of blue and white to work with and a lot less fog and haze to
deal with. Winds were predominantly out of the southeast for the sixth
straight day.

Raptor Observations:
Periods of idleness at the start and at the finish bracketed a
comparatively robust midday flight. Buteos exerted their presence a little
more today after a few days of limited activity. The vultures are still way
far out there and continue to cross to our north.

Non-raptor Observations:
There were lots of killdeers around in the morning. Northern flickers also
continue to fly by in greater and greater numbers.

Predictions:
We tried to soak up as much sun as we could today considering this might be
the last day we see much of it, at least for a little while. Tomorrow,
there's a 30 percent chance of rain. Regardless of the rain, expect
significant cloud cover. The wind will continue to be out of the southeast.
We could really use a cold front or a wind shift to help shake loose
another wave of migrants. That doesn't appear to be in the cards until the
weekend, though.
