The hawk watch was a bust with the south/southeast winds - only one Harrier ( a nice male) and one Sharpie. Only other highlights were 26 Monarchs (yes I was so desperate I had to count each one), lots of Rusty Blackbirds, a Common Gallinule, 3 Coots and a Palm Warbler.
At Frenchman's Bay, Carol Horner and I had the two godwits, 15 Lesser Yellowlegs, 5 Killdeer and a Dunlin. Directions: exit 401 at Whites Rd in Pickering and go south to Bayly. Then east about 1.5 km past the row of town houses to Gingerbread nursery school on south side. Park at southeast corner where a well trodden down short trail leads to cattails and mudflats. Rubber boots are essential and the muckiest part is on the way in thru the cattails.
