Temperatures ranged from 8-12 C. A few spots of sun early but cloud cover was complete for most of the day. Rain began at the end of the day. Raptor Observations: A few birds moving, but overall a little disappointing. The bird of the day was an immature Northern Goshawk that went down the beach at treetop height. This is the first goshawk recorded for the season. Non-raptor Observations: A few birds seem to have moved in the last few days. More Dark-eyed Juncos are around, and an Orange-crowned Warbler was seen a few times around the base of the tower. The first American Robin movement of the season happened today, with 562 counted. There is an impressive number of American Coots (1800) and Gadwall (850) in the marsh along with a very nice variety of other waterbirds.
