Report for Tuesday 25 October 2011: 13 species of diurnal raptors totaling 588 individuals were seen Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. on moderate west and northwest winds.
Turkey Vulture: 308 Bald Eagle: 1 juvenile at 11:35 a.m. Northern Harrier: 9 Sharp-shinned Hawk: 45 Cooper's Hawk: 2 Northern Goshawk: 1 juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk: 13 Broad-winged Hawk: 1 (probable, waiting to examine photos) Red-tailed Hawk: 195 Rough-legged Hawk: 1 light morph Golden Eagle: 1 juvenile at 12:28 a.m. American Kestrel: 3 Peregrine Falcon: 1 Unidentified Buteo: 6 Unidentified Raptor: 1 Total species: 13 Total individuals: 588 Other birds: 42 species including 1 Common Gallinule, 3 American Coot, 1 Pied-billed Grebe, 1 Greater and 3 Lesser Yellowlegs, 1 Great Egret, 2 Belted Kingfishers, several flocks of Pine Siskins flying east, many Rusty Blackbirds.
