From noon today (December 7th) until mid afternoon, we saw thousands of Snow
Geese (perhaps 20 thousand plus) in the area between Highway 138/417 and St. Isadore. Our first sighting was of thousands of Snow Geese landing to join others in a field on the South side of Lafleche Road. As we drove the roads north of Hwy 417 between Casselman and St. Isadore over the next couple of hours the sky was frequently filled with ribbons of Snow Geese as far as we could see. With binoculars we could easily identify every one of these huge waves of geese that passed near us as Snow Geese. We did not see any of these flocks descend to land. As we were leaving the area we stopped by Lafleche Road again and the large volume of Snow Geese we had seen earlier were still in the field there. Awesome sights!

Directions: From Highway 417 (Queensway) take exit 58 (Highway 138 S / Moose Creek). Proceed South on Highway 138 and turn right at the first street, Lafleche Road (no exit). Snow Geese were in the field on South side of this road. Snow Geese in flight were observed from Concessions 19, 20 and 21. Take Highway 138 North over Hwy 417 and turn right onto Concession 20 to reach the area.
