Golden-crowned kinglets were seen moving with chickadees in a mixed flock just inside the gate on the road into Charlottenburgh Park today at 1 PM. There were at least 6 kinglets plus a brown creeper also made an appearance. Father James Swanson alerted local birders about the golden-crowns yesterday. He also reported 4 northern flickers in the area. Charlottenburgh Park is located on Highway 2 along the St. Lawrence River about 3 miles west of Lancaster. There is a large parking lot at the entrance and you can walk from there. The Park is closed this time of year but many people walk the lovely walking trails throughout the year plus it is a favorite birding spot for locals.
