Hi All,

Earlier this afternoon (approximately 2:30 pm), Jean and I were discouraged by
the blowing snow and lack of observations of the Black-throated Gray at
Bayfront Park in Hamilton. We returned to our car for lunch. From the car, Jean
spotted a juvenile Black-crowned Night-Heron perch itself on some rocks, in
front of the reeds and grasses, near the observation platform (boat launch
area).
The Juvenile Night-Heron remained at this spot for a few minutes until a man
walked out onto the platform and unknowingly scared the bird from its perch. It
flew off towards the bay.
Cheers,Directions (from previous posts): From the QEW take exit 90 for
Burlington Street. Follow
Burlington Street East (6.9 km) to James Street North. Turn left onto James
Street. Turn right onto
Strachan St. W and continue onto Harbour Front Drive. Park in the parking
lot on the left side and following the trail along the harbour. Markers are
written on the pavement.
