Hello Birders. I hate to be a killjoy but it looks to me that the Mountain Bluebird is actually just a female Eastern Bluebird with perhaps slightly altered colouration. Mountain Bluebirds actually are a great deal bluer in my experience. I think the fact that it is associating with a male Eastern is a big clue. I'm no expert but perhaps I'm not the only one who thinks this.
