Normally I wouldn't email the Alerts about red-tailed hawks, but I was kind of surprised as to what I saw.
At 1:30 PM, I was outside and heard the low RTH shriek. I looked up and four were flying together, about 100 feet up, heading west on O'Connor Drive, and then making a north turn up Beachwood. The hawks circled for a while before heading north. I've seen 2 RTH fly over Pape and Cosburn before and three RTH used to live in the escarpment above the Brickworks. I've never seen four RTH fly together that low around my neighbourhood - especially in the late winter. Directions: O'Connor Dr is found when heading south on the DVP. Take the Don Mills Rd South exit and turn right (west). Pape is two major intersections west. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
