Finally I was able to verify today that there are at least 6 Snowy owls in the fields of the Holland Marsh and near Bradford. I saw, within minutes, all three that can be seen along Ravenshoe road west of Leslie, in the south end of Keswick. And I saw two right near Jane and the dead end strip of Edward, and neither of these were the very white older owl that has been around that corner all winter. That makes six. But what about the Snowy owl that I saw at the end of Bathurst north of the west end of Queensville side road? I saw (and photographed) that owl only once. Two years ago we frequently saw them there as well. But it seems very likely to me that this owl was just visiting (a short flight) from the Ravenshoe location. If not, there are seven around Bradford and the Holland Marsh.

Happy owling.
