A few updates from an Ottawa-area birder.

On Saturday March 3rd: along the Rideau River just off the SW corner of
Nicolls Island in Manotick, ON.

   - 5 Canada Geese (2 standing on ice, 3 flying overhead)
   - 20 American Black Ducks
   - 25-30 Mallards
   - 10 Bohemian Waxwings in the Maple Hill Park region: along shoreline of
   Rideau River, W of Nicolls Island Rd.
   - 5-6 Golden-crowned Kinglets foraging away in some conifers in the
   Maple Hill Park region.

On Sunday March 4th: seen flying overhead at the boardwalk lookout at the
NCC Sasparilla Nature Trail in the Bells Corners region

   - 2 Red-winged Blackbirds (males)
