Ridgetown Lagoons had a total of 12 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE today. Six
were swimming in the north back pond, and another six were on the east dike of
that pond. Those on the dike were mainly visible, by scope, from the viewing
stand.
Also present was a total of 22 SNOW GEESE (6 of blue form). Nine white and one
blue were visible on the north dike, while the others were visible on the east
dike (north of Mitton) only from the viewing stand at the south pond south of
Mitton.
There were hundreds of Tundra Swans and Canada Geese. Ridgetown always
attracts a large number of geese and swans!
A good assortment of ducks was present as well.

Nothing really noteworthy at Rondeau Park today. Some Eastern Towhees are now
in and dozens of Song Sparrows.

Lagoon Directions: Ridgetown is about 30 minutes east of Chatham. Exit 401
at Rd. 21 (#109) and head south. From the main corner in Ridgetown at Erie
St. and Main St., follow Erie St. north about 1.5 km to Mitton Line/Palmer
St. Turn left onto Mitton Line and go past fertilizer plant. Lagoons are
on the south (left) side and you will see a viewing stand. Do not enter
beyond fence.
You can also view the north ponds by driving up the laneway on the north side
of Mitton and around the buildings.
