Today we had several good sightings to start the spring season with a Turkey Vulture on 5th Line between Berry side Rd and Thomas Dolan. At Constance Creek on Thomas Dolan we observed several Ring-necked Ducks, and a Bufflehead. On Dunrobin Rd east of Thomas Dolan we sighted an Eastern Meadowlark. At the end of Willand Lane off Constance Bay Drive we had two Red-shouldered Hawks calling to each other, and a Northern Shrike in the farm field south of Willand on the skidoo trail. On the river in Constance Bay area we had several Common Mergansers, Lesser Scaup, more Buffleheads, and a huge flock of Geese flying high from the Quebec side of the river. And finally there is a Bald Eagle on the nest at the dyke on the DND property seen from March Valley Rd.
Happy Spring and enjoy the migration, Brenda McCrea _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization. Send bird reports to [email protected] For information about ONTBIRDS visit http://www.ofo.ca/
