Hi,
Did a quick tour this morning (Sunday, 25 Mar 12) of the east end of Ottawa
and ended up at Cobbs Lake Creek east of Bourget at around 1140 am. South
of Russell Road and just west of the bridge over the creek was a flock of
approx 2500 Snow Geese. They were joined by an additional 1000 or so about
5 minutes later. There were also a fair number of Northern Pintail in the
area as well as about 20 or so American Wigeon. I did not see the Eurasian
Wigeon that has been previously reported. There was a smaller flock of Snow
Geese (approx 100) further west on Russell Road, between Frank Kenny Road
and Rockdale Road.

Directions (courtesy of NeilyWorld): From Highway 417 (The Queensway) take
exit 96 (Boundary Road). Proceed 2.0 km NNW on Boundary Road to Russell
Road (Regional 26). Turn right or ESE onto Russell Road (Regional 26, then
Prescott - Russell 2) and drive 26.5 km, through Bourget, to descend into
the 3.8 kilometre extent of the floodplain area of the Cobbs Lake Creek at
Russell Road (Bourget) site.
Cheers,

Remy Poulin
