Surveyors needed for Breeding Bird Survey in Northern Ontario

Skilled birders are needed to run Breeding Bird Survey (BBS) routes located in
Northern Ontario. Volunteers must have excellent birding by ear skills, have a
reliable vehicle, and be able to survey one or more routes in June or early
July.

A special financial assistance program is available to defray travel expenses
for skilled birders who agree to survey one or more priority BBS route(s) in
northern Ontario for a minimum of three years. Priority routes are available in
the vicinity of Dryden, Geraldton, Hearst and Kapuskasing. The Northern Ontario
BBS travel assistance program is being coordinated by Bird Studies Canada, in
cooperation with the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment
Canada. For more information contact Audrey Heagy, Ontario BBS Coordinator,
[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>, 1-888-448-2473 x 166.

Thank you to Mark Cranford and OFO for their assistance in distributing this
request for volunteers.
