Today, Friday, April 20th was the 3rd day of the spring banding season by the 
Holiday Beach Migration Observatory at Hillman Marsh Conservation Area. 
Migration was back in evidence at Hillman Marsh today. Three species of warbler 
were banded including: Yellow-rumped (4); Palm (3); and Magnolia (1). In 
addition, Yellow Warbler was noted singing within the net lanes and a Cerulean 
Warbler was observed on two occassions feeding between nets 4 and 5. Other new 
species banded for the year were: Field Sparrow; House Wren; Winter 
Wren; Hermit Thrush; and Brown Thrasher.
 
Weather permitting banding will take place on both Saturday and Sunday, April 
21st and 22nd. Visitors are welcome.
 
Hillman Marsh is located at the intersection of County Road 19/20/37 in the 
Town of Leamington, with County Road 20 being the eastern extension of Oak 
Street within the town itself. Hillman Marsh is also north of Point Pelee 
National Park.
