Ontbirders,

Today, there was an adult male Green-winged Teal / Eurasian Teal intergrade in
the south-west pond at the Tavistock lagoons. The bird showed both a bold,
white horizontal flank stripe and a [reduced] white shoulder crescent as well
as intermediate facial features.

A good assortment of waterfowl was also present at the lagoons and the SW
lagoon is drawn down very low, so could be good in the future. Few waders were
present, although at nearby Wildwood Lake [where extensive mudflats are present
in the Ducks Unlimited Impoundment] there were small numbers of both
Yellowlegs, Dunlin and Pectoral Sandpiper. Another spot to watch.....if I had a
nickel for everytime I said that and it amounted to nothing, I'd be retired by
now.

Also at Wildwood was an early Gray Catbird and 12 lingering White-winged
Crossbills, the 1st flock of which I have seen in weeks.

For the lagoons, take Hwy 59 north of Woodstock to Maplewood Sideroad. Continue
east to the 14th Line, go north [about 2 km] to the old RR tracks and walk in
to the north-west -- the lagoons are visible from the RR line.

To reach Wildwood Lake, take CR 6 north from the 401 to CR 28. Go west through
Harrington and take the 1st right [31st Line] and watch for the DU trail on the
right.
