Hey Birders,

May started quite nicely. Activity was high for most of the day, while it was
overcast. Close to 110 species were seen on the island today.

Highlights below:

Cerulean Warbler - 1 male at Fish Point
Clay-colored Sparrow - 1-2 birds near Dick's Marina
Yellow-throated Vireo - 1 on the East-West Road
White-eyed Vireo - 1 singing near my cottage on the South Shore Road
E. Whip-poor Will - 1 flushed from the road near Scudder

Good numbers and diversity of new migrants were around the island. At least 15
species of warblers were around, with new individuals of
Chestnut-sided Warbler. Other new species seen on the island included Orchard
Oriole, and Rose-breasted Grosbeak among many others!

Good Birding,
Ken Burrell
