This morning, 18 May 2012, about 9:30 a.m. a distinctive gull smaller than Herring Gulls and larger than Ring-billed Gulls landed at the Tip of Point Pelee. I checked with Ron Pittaway, Kevin McLaughlin and Michel Gosselin who all identified it as a first year (year old) California Gull. This is the "mystery" gull in today's report from Point Pelee.
