Hey Birders,
Sorry for the lack of a post yesterday, my internet wasn't working. Things have
been steady but slow the last few days, with some interesting things being
found.
Highlights:Acadian Flycatcher - 1 bird banded at Fish Point by PIBO this
morning (May 19th)
Lesser Black-backed Gull -2 first-year birds at Fish Point - May 18
American Golden-Plover - 1 bird mixed in with Black-bellied's, this is the
first one found on the island this spring as far as I know
Yellow-breasted Chat – same bird on territory along the West
Shore, daily - first found on May 6thProthonotary Warbler
– male and female attending to a nest box along the road at Fish Point.
Olive-sided Flycatcher -1 bird at Sheridan's Point - May 18
Gulls,
and Shorebirds
seem to be showing up at Fish Point in the afternoons, in some
impressive numbers (Fish Point's tip is ~1.5km long). 2 Great Black-backed X
Herring Gull hybrids were found at the tip.
Good Birding,
Ken Burrell
