Don Barnett, Jean Iron, Mark Field, Tim McCarthy and I spent 12 hours minutes today
starting at 5:30 am
and recorded 202 Whimbrels in 8 groups, all between 5:30 and 10:30 am.
Hope, a Whimbrel with a satellite transmitter, flew over Lake Ontario
very
close to Toronto either yesterday or this morning and is now approaching
Moosonee and Ontario's James Bay Coast. You can follow her migration

Other migrant shorebirds consisted of 5 Black-
bellied Plover and 16 Dunlin.  In we had 17 Common
Loons.  The watch continues until 30 May.

Location: The park is located at the end of Kipling and south of
Lakeshore Boulevard.  The parking lot is located at the end of Colonel
Samuel Smith Park Drive.  If that parking lot is full, free parking is
allowed on 13th street which runs along the east side of the park.
