On this morning's OFNC outing in Larose Forest, led by John Cartwright, we spotted a pair of Evening Grosbeaks, as well as a flock (30+) of Red Crossbills. Both species were seen at the corner of Bertrand and Martel Rds. in Larose Forest.
Other species included: Black-Billed Cuckoo (heard), Yellow-Bellied Sapsucker, Green Heron, Great Blue Heron, Rose-Breasted Grosbeak, Eastern Wood Peewee, Alder and Least Flycatcher, Wood Thrush, Hermit Thrush, Veery, Swamp Sparrows, Cedar Waxwings, Red-Eyed Vireos, White- and Red-Breasted Nuthatch, Warblers: Blackburnian, Black and White, Pine, Nashville, Yellow-rumped, Yellow, N Waterthrush, Ovenbird, Common Yellowthroat Anouk Hoedeman Directions courtesy of NeilyWorld: >From Highway 417, 39 km east of Ottawa, take the Limoges exit (79) and go NNW >for 4.4 km on Limoges Road (CR 5), through the town of Limoges to the junction >of this road with Regional Roads 8 and 37. Follow the right hand curve on >Regional 37 or the Saumure/Clarence-Cambridge Boundary Road northeast for 0.9 >km to where Saumure turns left. Then continue straight northeast on the >Clarence-Cambridge Boundary Road into the forest.
