Hi Ontbirders, Just a quick update on the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher.
The bird was seen at least until 8:00 P.M. when it flew out of site. It was frequenting the aforementioned fence line until it flew off slightly southeast. I spoke to the owner's son Allan Todd and he and his father Wilson have graciously granted access to the property to those birders wishing to see the bird. We have permission to wander freely on the property and through the trails by the small ash wood but please do not wander in the corn field. As well, you may enter through the gate but make sure you close it properly. Directions: From Ottawa, take HGWY 417 west to March Road. Turn right (east) and head towards Carp. In a few hundred metres you will see a Shell station. Turn right (south) on Diamondview road and drive down 100 metres or so. You will see a large gate. You can enter the property here. The fence line is not far off just past the small conifers.
