Hi Ontbirders,

This morning, 16 June, John Cooper and I birded south and east of Ottawa, mostly sewage lagoons. Perhaps the most interesting sighting (for date and place) was a single snow goose in a farm field adjacent (east) to the gate/entry road to the Winchester sewage lagoons. It was first observed about 6AM and it was still in place about an hour later when we exited the lagoons.

Happy Birding

Directions: Take Bank St/Hwy 31 south of Ottawa for about 40 km to Liscumb Rd (unnamed at Hwy 31, but opposite Spruit Rd). Turn left and follow Liscumb to where it ends at Cty 3 (Ontario St, running north from Winchester) and turn left on Cty 3 to the lagoon entrance on the right. The distance is about 3 km from Hwy 31 and the berms/pump house are visible on the right before reaching the gate/entrance.
