Hi Folks,

Tonight I brought my digital recorder to the White River Sewage lagoons and
made some recordings of the Least Bittern that I reported last night. It gave
me a couple variations in its call (one typical and one sped-up...almost
warning like). I still did not get a visual on it yet but will keep trying.

Just a note to those interested...the "bush" is unusually quite this
summer...for bird song...but the dragonflies and butterflies are very numerous
(as are all forms of biting insects).

White River is located 3.75 hours north of Sault Ste. Marie, On. The lagoons
are located south-east of the town of White River off of a gravel access trail
called Lagoon Rd. that connects up to Hwy 17.
