After departing in June, observed some presumed returning birds today at the storm pond at Victoria and Ira Needles in Kitchener/Waterloo.
One adult lesser black-backed gull, and three adult "Northern" Herring gulls. I say northern based on very limited black markings on the primaries, and overall very large Herring Gulls in comparison to the other adult Herring Gulls showing more substantial markings on their primaries. Next trip I will bring the camera.
