Ontbirders,

The LPBO Sightings Board is updated to September 3 -

There were no rarities per se, but a number of large movements of
neotropical migrants and other interesting sightings.

Greater than normal numbers of Red-breasted Nuthatches in late July and
early August rose suspicions that the species might irrupt this year. Our
suspicions were confirmed last week when hundreds of nuthatch arrived on the
point accompanied by small numbers of Purple Finch - their typical travel
companions. Check out the sightings board to learn a little more.

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and
looks like work.
