Today at Winchester Lagoon there were 6 Cackling Geese among several hundred Canada's. This is an early date for Eastern Ontario. Also present were 2 Snow Geese (one summered here) and 2 Canvasback, the latter also an early date. Not much in the shorebird way, only 5 Lesser Yellowlegs and 2 Pectoral Sandpiper. Nearby fields had many American Pipit. Directions: From Highway 31, just north of Winchester, proceed east on Liscomb Road, the lagoons are on the south just east of Ottawa Road.
