Visitors:
Thanks to today's counter Jen L.... with great help from Derek, Ernie,
Keith, Rose Braxton, Mary and Jim Dunn. Dave Verkley stopped by with his
relatives from the Netherlands... also Mark and his uncle from Vancouver
plus others.
Weather:
Another unsettled day weather wise...winds were moderate to strong from the
NW for the first couple of hours...then swung to the SW and SSW for the
rest of the day. Lots of cloud around for the day and temp to a high of
19C.
Raptor Observations:
Not a bad flight at all today with a total of 425 raptors....including a
great flight of Sharpies (290) and Kestrels (80)...a decent movement of N.
Harriers (32)...and on the SW winds Osprey (6), Merlin (6) and More
Peregrines (8)...and a few Cooper's Hawks (3).
Our first peregrine was flushed from it's roost in the gap by a harrier -
very good early birds! And the last 2 peregrines gave great views hovering
over the counters on the mound!

(right above the observers), Blackburnian, Chesnut-sided, Redstart,
