Visitors:
We had about 20 visitors today from Ontario, Ohio and as far away as
British Columbia!


Weather:
Mostly cloudy skies this morning turned cloudy with rain this afternoon.
west/southwest winds at 10kmph moved to west, then west/northwest and
increased to 20kmph. Temperatures ranged from 11C to 15.8C



  

Raptor Observations:
Nice variety today with 11 Raptor species counted. Visitors were treated to
63 Sharpies during the 11:00 hour with up to 12 visible at a time. Thanks
to Dennis Patrick, Cindy Cartwright, Karen Padbury and Chris Craft who
helped spot birds today.  

Non-raptor Observations:
Highlights included 7,200 Blue Jays, 143 Chimney Swifts, and 120 American
Goldfinch. Additional Species: Canada Goose, Mute Swan, Wood Duck, Mallard,
Blue-winged Teal, Double-crested Cormorant, Great Blue Heron, Green Heron
4, Black-crowned Night Heron 3, Ring-billed Gull, Herring Gull,
Ruby-throated Hummingbird 5, Downy Woodpecker, Monarch 5.  

Predictions:
West winds 10-20kmph with a high of 15C. There will be some sunshine
tomorrow. Come out for the final day of our 2012 Hawk Festival and enjoy
the show.
