Turkey Vulture: 9 migrants plus 4 probable locals

Osprey: 1 

Northern Harrier: 4 migrating juveniles + 1 local juvenile 

Sharp-shinned Hawk: 12

Cooper's Hawk: 1 

Red-tailed Hawk: 1 migrant plus 2 probable locals 

American Kestrel: 2

Merlin: 2

Peregrine Falcon: 2 (One appeared to be a tundrius subspecies from the
Arctic which are now migrating.)

Totals: 9 species and 43 individuals

Other Birds: It was a good day around the platform with 65 species including
Lesser Yellowlegs 12; Ruby-throated Hummingbird 9; Rose-breasted Grosbeak 1;
8 species of warblers including Blackpoll, Cape May, Wilson's,
Black-throated Green; Rusty Blackbird 109, Gray Catbird 2, American Pipit
16, American Bittern 1, Black-crowned Night-Heron 2, Great Egret 8 - one
with green wing tags, 13 species of waterfowl in the marsh including 5
Redheads. There were very few migrating Blue Jays and American Goldfinches.

Monarch: 128 migrating

Weather: Warm day in low 20s C, clear sky from 10 a.m. into the afternoon.
Moderate southwest wind off Lake Ontario.

Directions: From Victoria St in Whitby go south on Halls Rd to the second
short walkway going east to the Cranberry Marsh Lookout.
