Hey Birders, I had the fortune of having some work close to Rainy River so I took the weekend off out there and birded the area all day yesterday and first thing this morning. Weather was unseasonably warm, with daytime temperatures reaching 25 degrees today. Winds were light-moderate out of the south. Activity really seemed to die after 10am, and picked back up around 5pm.
I had a total of 90 species over the two days - not too bad considering the weather, duration of stay, and time of year. I didn't have anything really unexpected, though it was a pleasant 'jaunt' in an area I rarely get to go to.
