Raptor Observations: Accipiters were moving consistently up until the last two hours. All three falcon species were present and accounted for. Non-raptor Observations: Pine Siskins (250+), Red-winged Blackbirds (11000+) and American Crows (6000+) were very noticeable today. Also, more and more Common Grackles (300+) were mixed in with the many blackbird flocks. Monarchs (20+) continued to be seen with regularity. Predictions: Cloudy with gradual clearing and temperatures falling into the 40s. There is a 70 percent chance of rain before 1 pm. The wind will be moderate and out of the northwest, which should be good once the rain stops. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jonathan Stein ([email protected]) SMRR- Lake Erie Metropark information may be found at: http://www.drhawkwatch.org Site Description: The primary site used by the Detroit River Hawk Watch (a joint venture of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge and it's Friends group, the International Wildlife Refuge Alliance) is the Boat Launch at Lake Erie Metropark located approximately 20 miles south of Detroit, Michigan.
